Huaihe River authorities lower emergency response for Shaying River in Henan

The Huaihe River Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the Huaihe River Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources adjusted emergency response levels on August 17. The flood control and flood defense responses for the Shaying River system in Henan Province were downgraded to Level 3, while the lowest Level 4 was maintained for the same river system in Anhui Province. The agencies said the decision was based on a comprehensive assessment and followed existing emergency plans.
