China to Extend Anti-Dumping Duties on Indian Single-Mode Optical Fiber for Five Years

商务部:对原产于印度的进口单模光纤续征反倾销税

China's Ministry of Commerce announced on August 13 that it will extend anti-dumping duties on imports of single-mode optical fiber originating in India. The decision follows a sunset review investigation initiated in August 2025 at the request of the domestic industry. The ministry concluded that dumping and injury to the Chinese industry would likely recur if the measures were terminated. The new duties, recommended by the ministry and approved by the State Council Tariff Commission, will take effect on August 14, 2026, and last for five years.

The view from inside

The report frames the decision as a routine, legally mandated procedure under the country's anti-dumping regulations (《中华人民共和国反倾销条例》), presenting the outcome as a technical finding rather than a political act.
