UN releases $30.5 million in emergency funds as Ebola deaths mount in DR Congo

联合国追加资金应对埃博拉疫情

The UN is allocating an additional $30.5 million from its Central Emergency Response Fund to fight an accelerating Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. UN humanitarian chief Thomas Fletcher said the virus is “gaining the upper hand” and that one person is now dying every 30 minutes. The funds supplement $24 million already disbursed to the DRC and four neighboring countries, and the UN is deploying 20 more staff to the front lines.
