US Navy Destroyer USS Benfold Adrift for Four Days in South China Sea After Power Failure
被困南海,美驱逐舰漂了4天
The U.S. guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold lost propulsion and spent four days adrift in the South China Sea in late July after a generator-related engineering failure, according to a U.S. military newspaper report republished by Sina News. The U.S. Seventh Fleet confirmed the July 24 power outage disrupted onboard drinking water, air conditioning, toilets, and galleys, with no crew injuries. The ship was towed to Subic Bay in the Philippines, restored to power by July 30, and departed on August 8 for Yokosuka, Japan.
