Japan’s real household spending slides for seventh month in a row

Japan’s real household spending fell 3.3% year-on-year in June, marking a seventh straight monthly decline, according to data released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and reported by Xinhua. Seasonally adjusted month-on-month spending dropped 6.4%. Expenditure fell in six of ten major categories, including clothing, housing, utilities, transport, and food.
