Report Confirms Japan Nuclear Plant Falsified Seismic Assessment Data

A third-party investigation commission reported on September 14, 2026, that Chubu Electric Power falsified earthquake ground motion assessments for the Hamaoka nuclear plant. Of 225 suspected cases, 208 were confirmed as improper, including false statements and data concealment. In response, the company withdrew its restart application and announced the resignation of its president and chairman.
