Three Gorges Dam's annual cargo throughput hits 100 million tonnes in 2026

Xinhua reports that the cargo volume passing through the Three Gorges hub reached 100 million tonnes on August 13, 2026, a milestone achieved just over seven months into the year. The figure includes nearly 97.3 million tonnes through the ship locks and over 446,000 passenger trips via the ship lift. The hub has now sustained throughput above 100 million tonnes for 15 consecutive years.
